At the end of 2002 I seriously accepted the challenge of oil painting again. The overall themes of my latest works are that of stillness, a spiritual quality of light is portrayed in vast and evocative landscapes and seascapes.
Sometimes an individual household item is used in a symbolic way.
My technique is that of extreme subtlety in colour grading and colour fusion thus creating serene and contemplative quietness.

In August 2004 I had a successful exhibition - A Pilgrimage into Solitude, Light and Stillness at the Pretoria Art Association.
In September 2005 I had a solo exhibition - Another dimension -
where less is more and nothingness becomes everything at Alette Wessels Kunskamer.
In my paintings of late I still focus on white but heavy texture and shadows add a new dimension to my work. My work has become less figurative and more abstract. Stillness and solitude prevail. These works will be exibited in the near future.
