I bought my first computer in 1991. After three months I fell in love with her. (Having a motherboard and being temperamental makes a computer feminine.) For three years we had a loving relationship until one day I was told: She has to be replaced, she is old, slow and outdated. Getting rid of her was not an option. I ceremoniously and lovingly dismantled her; carefully sorted all the beautiful delicate components, and placed them in a  "maybe"  box (Maybe I will someday do something with this.) I replaced my first loved one and  then had a tender relationship with the second one until one day I was told ......

Over and over the story repeats itself - not only replacing computers  but also scanners and printers. Technology surely travels in the ultra fast lane.

One morning I woke up with an idea:
build a totem - in dedication to technology. RA was conceived!
It was hard work turning an idea into a 2.5 meter reality. It also was great fun.

Ra  may be interpreted as RecycleArt. The ancient Egyptian sun god was also known as Ra. Technology being also today's energy giving god.

Ra is six stories high. From the bottom up:

First there are the four motherboard Queens.

Then follows Mac worshipping.

Next 8 computer
haiku dedicated to four ghosts in 4 diffrent machines.

10 doors open to ten stories and  truths.

Second from the top is the Epson family: Mr and Mrs Epson,
the Epson twins
Charlie and Micky and the Epson puncks Yvonne and Kenny.

To crown it all - the 4 seasons.
